Kitchen Island, Bench and Stools Remodel Complete
Don’t throw it away. That has always been our motto.
Combine that with Chris’ constant flow of ideas for new projects, it helps to reinvent. Always repurposing what was there before.
The original kitchen island with marble top framed in wood was super cool, but the tiny sliver gap between the marble and wood collected crumbs and was just never clean. The splatter wood dyed stools and bench felt messy. We were ready for a change.
True to Chris’ first love, he created a geometric pieced wood top using leftover scrap pieces.
Finished it with a super durable marine grade top coat and so far so good.
The Total Boat Gleam finish has held up to grubby toddler hands, spills (mostly me and my coffee) and prevented scratches from dragging the iPad. Crayons and marker stains have wiped clean. Will circle back in a few months with more photos of wear and tear.
