NJ Shore House Rebuild
7 years go, Hurricane Sandy dumped 6 feet of water into my Dad’s Lavallette, NJ beach bungalow. The beach bungalow has been in my family since we were kids. And it saw many summers of sandcastles, mini golf and card games. Then as we got older high school parties and too much booze. When the storm hit, it was like part of our childhood was lost. Plus it was my Mom’s favorite place.
It took my Dad awhile to get going combined with a very slow moving contractor, but this summer the house was raised and rebuilt. The 5 of us embarked on decorating and furnishing with the help of a Google Keep list. Originally the small 2 bedroom/ 1 bath was for a family of 6. Now that family includes 4 spouses and 6 grandkids. Hence the giant sofa…

Chris built a kitchen table and benches and cleaned up one of our coffee tables for the living room. Below are some glamour shots and build videos showing his step by step process. We don’t normally use white paint, but it worked with the beach vibe.
